Client: Kantarion Sound
Project Summary:
An Ode to Kantarion is a project marking ten years of Kantarion Sound and the evolution of Ivan Čuić’s practice from a mobile DIY sound system into a structured artistic research platform based in Amsterdam Noord.
The project unfolds in two connected parts in 2026: a Kantarion plant harvest in Croatia, and a 24-hour listening event at Kantarion HQ in Amsterdam. Together, these form a practical investigation into how sound, space, time, and plant knowledge can shape new forms of listening culture.
The harvest results in a Kantarion oil artefact and publication that make the philosophy behind the sound practice tangible. The listening event brings together 24 Netherlands-based artists and DJs to explore extended duration, spatial sound design, and audience orientation within sound.
