Artist Biography - sinny
09 Apr 2026Full Version
Emerging from the haze of South East London’s experimental club community, Manchester-born sinny (he/him) is a DJ bound by a cinematic approach to texture and rhythm. Drawing upon the contemporary mutations of dub, he embraces a non-conformist approach to rhythm that drifts between the abyssal state of bass on a dancefloor, to the acoustic metamorphosis of his natural surroundings. Yet within this diversity of sound, sinny carries an energy that remains both uninterrupted and unafraid.
Inviting grueling locked in limbs to cascade into a dizzying sway, sinny’s encyclopedic sound lurches between menacing footwork, unsettling dubstep, scuzzy post punk, tripped-out jazz, and floating ambient, creating a gridlock of tension that is guided by an unexpected flow. With roots in classical training, growing up around Arabic folk music, and spending his teenage years wrapped around the post-dubstep mania, his sonic repertoire navigates the stranger side of club music, offering dancers a slice of something they might not expect to hear. sinny crafts his sets with care, traversing a broad range of styles that connect through mutual texture and resonance. Aural artifacts reverberate in flux between a soft sensibility and dark and hazy atmospheres, ones that gradually unfold into moments of delicate, yearning enchantment.
Having immersed himself in scenes from dubstep, to industrial techno, to experimental bass, sinny finds community and inspiration at his doorstep in London, frequenting the halls of the South Bermondsey Triangle where he has carved out his sound. Part of Diversion and Beatcrime sound system, sinny’s in-depth approach to selection extends to his curation, inviting the likes of ojoo, Elijah Minelli, and Elle Andrews to local dancefloors. Beyond London, sinny has curated festival lineups for gnojki kolektyw’s SAMBA in Poland, and has a monthly residency on Radio Alhara which explores his Turkish-Arabic heritage through sound and photography. Each show is a sonic prose of cultural commentary which documents the genocide in Palestine, and addresses resistance and oppression in the Arabic diaspora.
You can find sinny transmitting a psycho-kinesis of warped grooves at Ormside Projects, Spanners, and Cafe Oto, where he has performed alongside artists like Nono Gigsta, DJ Marcelle, Kiernan Leveaux, Marylou, Nkisi, and i-sha.
